After<\/span> Bouillon Bilk<\/span><\/a> and<\/span> Cadet<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> Place Carmin<\/b> is<\/span> the third<\/span> estaurant opened by M\u00e9lanie Blanchet and Fran\u00e7ois Nadon. It\u2019s an updated version of a traditional French bistro.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

For this<\/span> commercial project<\/b><\/a>,<\/span> Clairoux<\/b> was tasked with designing a new elegant and spacious restaurant with a welcoming, warm and bright atmosphere. The clients wanted to create a new space <\/span>that feels modern and stands out with unique design.<\/b><\/a>. Our designers proposed <\/span>a contemporary<\/b>, refined<\/span> and curated design<\/b> where<\/span> wood,<\/b> natural light<\/b> and<\/span> a specific<\/b> colour palette<\/span> brought the project<\/b> to life.<\/span>There\u2019s a vibrant mix light coloured wood and a blend of brass, brick and concrete. When it comes to <\/span>furniture<\/b>the designers opted for curved chairs with vividly coloured leather and faux leather upholstery. Just imagine the ambiance!<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the heart of the<\/span> International District<\/b>, an area with a significant business clientele, there was a high demand for<\/span> a restaurant<\/b> that could<\/span> accommodate groups.<\/b>. Around 100 seats are spread out in the venue\u2019s different areas defined by their ambiance. The bar has a more festive atmosphere <\/span>while the bistro<\/b> is more<\/span> intimate.<\/b> There\u2019s also a<\/span> section for groups<\/b> that can be rented out<\/span> for private and corporate<\/b> functions.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A Collaborative and Artistic Effort<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This project was the result of a collaboration between<\/span> passionate restaurateurs<\/b>,<\/span> local creatives<\/b> and a huge team. Thanks to the talented team and enthusiastic contributors, <\/span>Place Carmin<\/b> was a<\/span>collaborative<\/b> and artistic effort. Clairoux and its contributors <\/span>used every detail, <\/b>from the restaurant\u2019s unique wallpaper <\/span>to the lighting, <\/b>to create a simple, <\/span>original <\/b>and innovative space. <\/span>M\u00e9lanie Blanchette<\/b><\/a>owner, was in charge of crafting the dining experience. <\/span>Fany Jane<\/b><\/a>, a tattoo artist, designed the neon sculptures featured in the restaurant. <\/span>Esther Pichette<\/b>, custom wallpaper creator, oversaw wall decor. <\/span>Maude Rondeau<\/b> created <\/span>the light fixtures.<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This project had many challenges that<\/span> our<\/b> design team handled<\/b><\/a> with great success. With the <\/span>kitchen<\/b> in the basement and a choppy layout, circulation was complicated. To create a more pleasant work environment for employees, <\/span>we had to reconfigure<\/b>and move spaces around to make them more functional. Our <\/span>firm<\/b> worked diligently on<\/span> the space\u2019s function and everyday use<\/b><\/a> while developing a concept that\u2019s at once bold and classic. In this building with significant square footage, Clairoux had the opportunity to fully express itself. <\/span><\/p>\n
